One of the greatest playmakers and free-kick specialists that ever played the game. His almost supernatural passing skill and creative vision of the field earned him many honorary nicknames: The Architect, The Metronome, The Professor. But his complete mastery of the game as well as his elegance on and off field is perhaps most succinctly captured with the epithet Maestro. This elegance is the theme of his exclusive NFT Collection.
Andrea Pirlo played 116 matches for Italy - fifth-most of all time. He commanded Gli Azzurri to a bronze medal at the 2004 Olympics and the final of the 2012 Euros. But never was he more instrumental than during Italy's triumph at the 2006 World Cup - winning the Bronze Ball, being elected to the Team of the Tournament and as Man of the Match in the final against France.
Pirlo’s composure, touch, technique and dribbling allowed him to leave his legendary boot prints all over both Italian football and the continental competitions in Europe. He was crowned Serie A Footballer of the Year three times and selected to the Serie A Team of the Year four times. To no surprise in 2019, Pirlo was immortalized in the Italian Football Hall of Fame.
